Large Prussian State flag used on buildings and other government facilities in Prussia. Was used between 1892-1918. Size is &’x5’. There is a rip down the center of the eagle. I can only guess it was cut by a box cutter. But it is not separated and does not distract from the eagle. The swallowtails are worn from wear. Flag is darkened. I don’t know if it was from coal smoke since many times these flags were placed by chimneys. Is it possible this was used as the toppflagge for the SMS Prussian?. I don’t know. See pictures and decide for yourself. In any case it is a Once in a lifetime ... |
